Some semi-random pictures from long ago
These are pictures from April...
I promised Caslav that I would rent us a convertible one day, so I did! Since booking ahead is always cheaper I did that and of course that day happened to be cloudy...

My first convertible! He was hoping for a mustang though.
We still had a lot of fun with it, too bad we had to close the top after only two hours because it started raining (one of two rainy days we had)... We drove to the Santa Monica mountains (west of LA) to cruise around in style. Beautiful area, but just when the views were getting spectacular, a fog came in. We really had bad karma that day because at some point Caslav got migraine and he didn't bring any ibuprofen. Back to LA then, but a scenic route for me: Mulholland Drive. Beautiful views over Hollywood/LA. It's still hard to believe how huge it is.

In LA it took a while to find a drugstore (they're everywhere, except when you need one), but when we finally did it happened to be right on the Walk of Fame. Caslav was feeling horrible so we left immediately, but one of the five stars that I saw, happened to be this one. 50 nerd points if you know why I got excited.
Unfortunately we had to skip visiting Lissette in LA that evening, but I would get to see her soon (later post)! The next day the weather was fine of course so we took the car for a photo shoot before we had to return it.

The next day Todd would take us surfing. Our Californian experience wouldn't be complete without at least trying! The waves weren't too big, but perfect for two noobs like us. Damn surfing is hard work! Paddling out to the waves really works your shoulder muscles. I was only half way to my first wave and they were hurting already... But is was way too much fun to pay attention to that. Just riding the wave lying on the board is pretty cool already and I managed to get up to a squatting position a few times. But every time I tried to stand up I just fell off... One time I went straight at this other surfer who was paddling out and I didn't have a clue how to steer away. I just dropped off the board but just too late so we hit each other and the board hit me on the head. Oops... Surprisingly it didn't hurt that much, the boards are pretty lightweight.
I wish I tried this sooner, I really liked it! Now we were about to leave in a week already...

After surfing we went to pick up Trish and played some more with the ever lovely George, her English bulldog.

fatties unite :)

I love that dog, so cute and fat and funny. And I don't even like dogs! Here's a video of him trying to kill the pink octopus.
Trish and Todd went to a show in LA, so I tagged along to go and see Lissette. But that will be a next post!
